Providing decades of professional testing services to equipment manufacturers
WESTEST is a state-of-the-art machinery and machinery component testing facility that provides access to physical testing and product performance evaluation services. WESTEST was created in 1991 by Agricultural Manufacturers of Canada (majority shareholder), along with Manitoba Hydro, Saskatchewan Mining Association, CNH Global, and John Deere.
The purpose then, which continues today, is to provide access to sophisticated physical testing and product performance evaluation services using modern testing equipment under the direction of professional engineers and technologists. Prior to WESTEST, manufacturers had to rely on laboratories in Eastern Canada or the USA for these services.
WESTEST management and technical services are provided by Prairie Agriculture Machinery Institute (PAMI) through a management contract, which also allows the sharing of expertise and facilities when required.
